Commercial Sales Representative - Construction & Manufacturing
We are seeking a Commercial Sales Representative with a background in construction, commercial real estate, or building product sales. This role requires a high-performing professional who can drive new business, build strategic relationships, and communicate the value of Northstar’s engineered solutions to architects, developers, owners’ reps, general contractors, and government stakeholders. This position is ideal for someone who understands construction sales cycles, has experience working on mid- to large-scale projects, is very familiar with commercial bidding processes, and is ready to be part of a company with breakthrough technology. Location: Bonita Springs, FL (with travel as needed) Company: Northstar Technologies Group Compensation: Base Salary + Commission Status: Full-Time Responsibilities: • **Business Development & Lead Generation: **Identify, pursue, and develop opportunities with developers, contractors, and architects for commercial building projects. • **Bidding & Bid Management: **Manage the end-to-end bid process, including reviewing bid invitations, coordinating with internal teams for scope and pricing, preparing proposals and submittals, and ensuring timely bid submissions. Track deadlines and follow up with stakeholders throughout the evaluation process. • **Client Consultation & Product Education: **Act as a technical sales advisor, educating clients on Northstar’s FRP systems and helping them integrate our systems into their design and construction workflows. • **Sales Strategy & Pipeline Management: **Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline using CRM tools. Lead all aspects of the sales process, from first contact through signed agreement. • **Proposal Development & Presentations: **Collaborate with internal estimating and engineering teams to develop customized proposals and RFP responses. Deliver compelling, value-based presentations to key decision-makers. • Relationship Building: Develop long-term relationships with repeat clients and key stakeholders in commercial markets. Represent Northstar at industry events, conferences, and networking groups. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with the design, production, and construction teams to ensure alignment from preconstruction through delivery and installation. • Market Intelligence: Stay informed on trends in commercial construction, sustainability requirements, code compliance, and competitor activity to position Northstar’s solutions effectively. Qualifications: • 5+ years of sales experience in commercial construction, design-build, building materials, or architecture/engineering services • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, stakeholders, and bid/proposal dynamics • Proven ability to develop relationships with decision-makers (owners, architects, developers, GCs, government agencies) • Excellent communication and presentation skills — both technical and consultative • Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organized • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite • Familiarity with BIM, CAD/Revit, and prefabricated/modular construction is a plus Preferred Experience: • Working knowledge of curtain wall systems, structural shell solutions, or facade engineering • Experience selling into the public sector or DoD/government projects • Background in sustainability-driven or LEED-certified commercial builds • Exposure to mission-critical sectors (data centers, mobile hospitals, NOCs) What We Offer: • Competitive base salary + high-earning commission structure • Opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge company transforming the built environment • Growth potential into senior business development or leadership roles • Collaborative, entrepreneurial team culture Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 yearly
