Green Sage Cafe is looking for a dedicated Commissary Baker to join our fun and busy cafe. This job offers great work flexibility and work life balance. Looking for someone motivated and a self starter as you work independent of the cafes. Need to be organized and be able to complete tasks in a timely manner. We are seeking individuals who can uphold the value our company has in preparing healthy and delicious meals by following simple recipes using organic, all-natural, and local ingredients. Our menu satisfies a customer base with a variety of dietary restrictions and lifestyle choices such as vegan, gluten-sensitive, dairy-free, etc. Our Cooks must be team players, respect all staff, prove dependability, and show initiative. Shifts are available between the hours of 7am-5pm so no late nights are required. There is opportunity for growth within the company for those who wish to excel in their career. There will be some outside baking tasks required such as occasional juicing and small commissary prep items.
Responsibilities
The Commissary Cook’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Arrive ready to work at your scheduled time with a positive attitude and in proper uniform.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members.
Understand how to properly use and maintain equipment.
Utilize proper knife handling skills.
Assist with receiving truck orders.
Prepare basic components of each dish on our menu using our recipes.
Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards.
Monitor product freshness and rotate out old products based on a schedule created by the restaurant. Use the FIFO method when putting items away.
Help with dish washing

Requirements
Must have weekend availability
Ability to work on your feet for six hours or more a day
High level of professionalism
Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis
ServSafe certification (Recommended)
