Commissioning Services Engineer Level III
The Commissioning Services Engineer Level III will be required to work under the direction of the Commissioning Services Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for providing Commissioning Services support to all projects, starting from the proposals stage through to the startup and turnover at the project site. They will be supporting the Commissioning Services team in the teams’ role as the focal point for all Commissioning related matters.
In this role the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
• Review project contracts and documentation to effectively prepare and support site commissioning teams.
• Plan, forecast and schedule personnel and resources for site assignments by evaluating project’s progress on a weekly basis.
• Support and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) associated with the planning and execution of Commissioning activities.
• Ability to read and understand project drawings, Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), process diagrams, and function diagrams related to engineered systems.
• Refine field procedures related to the commissioning and startup activities by taking direction from Commissioning Team members.
• Work to ensure accurate and complete commissioning documentation for each project.
• Maintain and update internal Commissioning documentation and check sheets utilized by project site teams during the Commissioning phase of a project.
• Experience with developing procedures and documents.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills needed.

• Education and/or Experience: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or Technical diploma from college or university and extensive direct experience in power generation construction or commissioning. Or, based on the hiring manager’s decision a combination of education, training, and experience to meet the position requirements. This position is intended for candidates with a strong engineering background and a distinct ability to quickly understand and recognize the issue at hand and find optimal solutions to resolve it.
• Engineering Skills: An understanding of commissioning activities such as mechanical commissioning, testing, pipe flushing, and initial plant startup and testing would be beneficial for this role. An understanding of thermodynamic and fluid dynamic principles related to Combined Cycle Power Plant would be beneficial.
• Language Skills: Able to analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, and clients. Multilingual in Japanese and/or Spanish would be an asset.
• Mathematical and Reasoning Ability: Strong analytical skills related to engineering problem solving. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, electronic mail required.
