    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    As a part of the Commonwealth Casualty Company team, claims BI Adjuster is responsible for handling insurance claims filed by all parties. BI Adjuster will plan, and schedules work needed to process claim, interviews claimant and witnesses, and investigates claims.

    Duties:

    ·         Interview claimant and witnesses to gather pertinent information.

    ·         Comply with State and Federal laws, policy, and company procedures.

    ·         Handle and process Automobile Liability claims.

    ·         Analyzing obtained documentation, gathering relevant medical records, reports, diagnostic and treatment narratives, notes and billing.

    ·         Maintain compliant communication with all parties, attorney’s, medical staff or providers.

    ·         Staying current on claim settlement process and procedures ensuring strict adherence of all company policies and                         practices state/federal regulations and statues.

    ·         Set Inspections on all property damage to determine extent of damages.

    ·         Verify that coverage applies through an insurance policy.

    ·         Evaluate damages to ascertain compensation amount.

    ·         Consult police and hospital records.

    ·         Consult with internal and external resources for claim evaluation.

    ·         Examine photographs and statements.

    ·         Document and maintain accurate claim investigation details, needs and follow up.

    ·         Listen to or watch audio or video surveillance.

    ·         Record data and statements in report.

    ·         Evaluate all information to determine how claim should be handled.

    ·         Plan Negotiation strategies and act in good faith to settle/resolve claims.

    ·         Prepare claims for Subrogation unit to pursue recovery from other insurance companies or liable parties

    Job Requirements:

    ·         Aptitude for numbers and knowledge of basic math

    ·         Exceptional organizational skills

    ·         Good analytical and problem-solving skills

    ·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    ·         Strong computer skills including the knowledge of MS Office Programs such as Word and Excel

    ·         Ability to effectively and efficiently manage workload with minimal supervision
