What You Will Do
Guidehouse seeks a Communications Senior Consultant to take an active role in developing, leading, executing, and maintaining a robust communications management plan and associated collateral. This includes developing and disseminating materials such as a communications analysis, communications plans, reports, status reports, briefs, memos, newsletters, presentations, debriefs, and creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation using designated applications and tools. The Communications Senior Consultant is also responsible for understanding stakeholder needs in creating messaging and outreach strategies to reach stakeholders and lead both internal and client meetings.

As a Senior Consultant, you will have responsibility for client management, solution implementation, and overall delivery within your assigned workstream. You will be relied upon for to be a leader within your project workstream and to interact with clients to ensure engagement success. This includes supporting day-to-day operational meetings with clients and consulting leaders. Senior Consultants are expected to prepare and communicate well-organized communications and presentations to client and internal executives.

Specific Responsibilities Include
• Proactively assist in delivery of engagement activities and manage completion of deliverables
• Work independently, with minimal supervision, and partner with others to develop relationships across engagement team
• Lead one or more tasks or work streams within a client engagement, overseeing individual contributions as well as potentially that of junior staff
• Guide client and internal subject matter expert conversations towards effective outcomes
• Actively support business development activities to help identify, research, and pursue opportunities for both new and existing clients
• Contribute to development of team’s industry acumen and capabilities through contribution to internal firm initiatives
What You Will Need
• 3+ years of management consulting experience within the public sector (MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE)
• Thorough understanding of creating and executing both a communications strategy and a communications plan
• Communications experience creating collateral, specifically through a human centered design (HCD) lens in creating materials such newsletters, executive briefings, mass emails using mail merge and Send To functions within MS products
• Knowledge of 508 compliance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of business, including experience writing reports and client or public-facing documents, as well as communicating complex concepts effectively through MS PowerPoint, including creating custom visuals and customization of slide masters
• Organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and prioritize resources and time effectively
• Experience leading one or more tasks or work streams within a client engagement, overseeing individual contributions as well as potentially overseeing the work of additional engagement or junior staff
• Comfort with quantitative analysis in Excel, for example with pivot tables and conditional formatting, as well as the ability to translate analysis findings into easily digestible visuals or communications
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and develop successful professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
What Would Be Nice To Have
• Federal or commercial consulting experience
• Knowledge of graphic design concepts
• Experience documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Experience conducting stakeholder interviews
• Experience designing complex surveys and associated data analysis
• Experience with copy-editing
• Experience using Visio, documenting workflows, and doing process mapping
• Experience managing MS Teams and SharePoint
• Experience with Adobe Captivate, GoAnimate/Vyond, or similar applications
Master’s degree in communications, organizational design, public policy, administration, or other appropriate degree
