    SUMMARY

    The Community Engagement Manager is a vital member of CTL’s Development Team, responsible for rallying volunteer and community support to advance social impact, awareness, and fundraising initiatives. This role designs and leads public engagement opportunities that bring CTL’s mission to life while fostering transformational community partnerships.

    In this highly relational and operational role, the Community Engagement Manager recruits, trains, and coordinates a high volume of volunteers—particularly from corporate and community groups—while managing key systems and overseeing in-kind donation efforts. This person will work closely with leadership across CTL’s programs to maintain ongoing awareness of the organization’s greatest needs and align volunteer and donation efforts accordingly.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Community Engagement & Volunteer Leadership

    Mobilize volunteers from corporations, civic organizations, and the general public to support CTL’s programs, events, and advocacy efforts.

    Plan, coordinate, and at times lead campus tours on a weekly basis.

    Design and implement creative public engagement strategies that help transform communities through service and partnership.

    Recruit, train, and coordinate individual and group volunteers, ensuring alignment with CTL’s values and program needs.

    Work closely with The Resale Shop to meet ongoing volunteer support needs.

    Manage all volunteer systems and tools including Bloom Volunteers, Qgiv, and Cognito Forms.

    Regularly report volunteer activity and program impact to internal stakeholders and leadership.

    In-Kind Donations

    Oversee the recruitment, collection, and distribution of in-kind donations

    Coordinate seasonal donation drives and campaigns in collaboration with corporate partners and community groups

    Track inventory and donation distribution, ensuring all items are matched with program needs respectfully and efficiently

    Collaboration & Program Alignment

    Maintain regular communication with program leadership to stay aware of evolving needs in each program area

    Ensure volunteer and in-kind efforts directly support CTL’s frontline services and mission delivery

    Collaborate with the Development and Marketing Teams to promote engagement opportunities and steward partners

    Event Support & Volunteer Integration

    Coordinate volunteer participation for major events, such as the Transforming Lives Luncheon, our Annual Meeting, and quarterly Giving Society Socials other appeals

    Plan volunteer appreciation efforts and recognition events

    Plan and lead volunteer orientation and onboarding

    Attend and support evening/weekend events as needed

    Leadership, Communication & Reporting

    Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and team leads to integrate volunteerism into fundraising strategies

    Communicate regularly with internal teams to ensure a seamless volunteer and donor experience

    Collaborate closely with team members to develop and present impact reports and engagement summaries to inform dashboards, strategy, and transparency.

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field

    Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience in volunteer coordination, corporate engagement, or community mobilization

    Demonstrated ability to lead high-volume volunteer programs and community partnerships

    Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

    Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

    Proficiency with volunteer and donor platforms (e.g., Bloom Volunteers, Qgiv, Cognito Forms, or similar systems)

    Comfortable speaking publicly and engaging diverse audiences

    Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

    A collaborative spirit, learning posture, high emotional intelligence, and a deep belief in CTL’s mission to create lasting change for women and children.

    Additional Requirements

    Ability to work evenings and weekends for events and community engagement activities as needed in addition to regular work week.

    Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

    Willingness to engage with a wide array of community partners and donors in varied settings.
