Step-by-Step Behavioral Health seeks a compassionate and skilled Outpatient Therapist to provide insight-oriented, cognitive-behavioral, or supportive therapy interventions to individuals and families. This role involves delivering high-quality mental health counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and families in various settings, including communities, schools, and homes.
Responsibilities:
Conduct therapy sessions in community, school, and home settings.
Perform a wide variety of therapeutic activities as directed by the Clinical Director.
Maintain ongoing chart audits to ensure compliance and quality assurance of services provided.
Utilize motivational interviewing and provide stage-appropriate interventions.
Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing community resources for supportive services and discharge planning.
Serve as a liaison for clients, families, referral sources, and other social service agencies.
Provide mental health counseling to children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Deliver various therapeutic services, including individual, family, and group therapy, therapeutic behavioral on-site services, and psychosocial assessments.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to formulate and review individualized treatment plans.
Coordinate discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for clients.
Ensure documentation, reports, and records meet State, Federal, Regional, and departmental standards and requirements, with clear, organized, and timely progress notes documented in EMR (Electronic Medical Record).
Work effectively with culturally diverse groups and individuals experiencing psychiatric and mental health disorders, dual diagnosis, and those in stressful situations.
Uphold Step-by-Step Behavioral Health's vision, mission, goals, and objectives in all day-to-day activities.
Requirements:
Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
(Preferred) Licensure: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a Registered Intern with the State of Florida.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience providing substance abuse or mental health counseling in an outpatient setting.
Skills:
Computer literacy and proficiency with online applications, email, and the internet.
Strong written communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of community resources and discharge planning.
Demonstrated understanding of Medicaid requirements and DSM-IV/DSM-5.
Other Requirements: Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Work Environment:
The role involves providing services (in the field) in various community settings, including homes and schools.
