    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Position Summary As the Community Organizer, you will support implementing the goals and strategies of the Enough Grant 21217 project. You will be assigned to work full time in the Sandtown-Winchester/ Harlem Park area of West Baltimore. The goal of the Enough grant is to support community led efforts to eradicate poverty and increase the graduation rate through placed-based initiatives and programming in Sandtown/ Harlem Park.

    You will will serve as a critical link between community stakeholders, schools, community partners, service providers, and community partners to ensure that youth and families receive comprehensive educational, social-emotional, housing and employment needs. In this role, you will work closely with the Enough 21217 Community Collaborative to design, plan, coordinate, and implement school-based and school-linked programs and services that address Child poverty. You will ensure that all activities align with the mission and goals of the Enough grant effort to utilize community-based strategy to address concentrated child poverty in Sandtown-Winchester and Harlem Park.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in education, health, social work, or public policy .

    Master's degree a plus.

    Experience working in youth development programs and/or K12 education, preferably in Baltimore City

    Preference of three (3) years of successful experience working with public school systems, including development and implementation of youth development programs, community organizing, family engagement and/or education policy.

    Proficiency with Microsoft office, database systems, data analysis, as well as budget development and implementation.

    Experience working in the target neighborhoods of Sandtown-Winchester and Harlem Park a plus

    Responsibilities: Support the implementation of the Enough grant Sandtown/Harlem Park

    Work with partners including non-profits, anchor institutions, schools, local governments, unions, philanthropy, residents to conduct community asset mapping and needs assessments,

    Support the implementation of a neighborhood action plan to end child poverty tailored to local needs and assets in

    Support the training and development of the Enough Grant Community Collaborative

    Involve community members in the process of defining goals to ensure buy-in and ownership.

    Create spaces for people to share their stories and perspectives.

    Identify resources (financial, human, and material) needed to implement the community plan.

    Provide opportunities for local leaders to develop their skills and take on leadership responsibilities.

    Mobilizing & Organize Community events and activities.

    Support with Building Local Leadership Boards: individuals within the community who are passionate and capable of taking on leadership roles and representing their community.

    Conduct outreach and build rapport with residents, community leaders, and stakeholders.

    Organize meetings, town halls, and events to foster dialogue and participation.

    Develop and maintain strong relationships with community members, ensuring they feel heard and valued.

    Co-Develop and disseminate information to keep the community informed.

    Prepare reports and presentations to track progress and demonstrate impact.

    Empower residents to become active participants in addressing community challenges.
