    Companion Care (1099 Employment) is responsible for providing direct support and companionship to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them develop life skills, enhance social integration, and improve their overall quality of life. The role involves assisting individuals in daily activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering a supportive and engaging environment, including accompanying them on community outings.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide Direct Support:

    Assist individuals with daily living activities such as grooming, bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.

    Support individuals in learning and practicing life skills, including personal care, money management, and communication.

    Encourage and assist individuals in participating in social, recreational, and community activities.

    Foster Social Interaction:

    Engage individuals in conversation and activities that promote social skills and positive interactions.

    Accompany individuals on community outings, helping them to navigate social settings, build relationships, and experience new environments.

    Safety and Supervision:

    Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times.

    Administer medications and follow health care protocols as directed by healthcare professionals.

    Report any health or behavioral changes to the supervisor or healthcare provider.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, progress, and any incidents

    Complete all required documentation in compliance with APD and company policies.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    Work closely with other team members, families, and professionals to provide consistent and comprehensive care

    Communicate effectively with individuals served, families, and other stakeholders.

    Professional Development:

    Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

    Stay informed about best practices and regulatory requirements related to developmental disabilities care.

    Qualifications:

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.

    Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required; additional certifications as required by state regulations.

    Skills:

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    Ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and understanding.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, move, and physically assist individuals as needed; ability to perform tasks that involve physical activity.

    Working Conditions:

    Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM. This is a 1099 Position.

    The position may involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

    The role will require travel to community activities and events.
