    Compliance Officer

    Denver, CO

    Hybrid (in-office 3x week)

    Our client, a leading private real estate lender with a robust team and over $350 million in capital, is seeking a Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to all regulations in their mortgage and investment activities. The company specializes in lending to builders and developers and also operates a mortgage brokerage and development division. With one of the top-performing funds in the U.S. and $100 million in real estate acquisitions over the past four years, they are expanding both organically and through acquisitions.

    Compliance Officer Responsibilities:

    • Implement and update a compliance program for mortgage activities and regulatory changes.
    • Develop, update, and enforce compliance policies and staff training.
    • Set up and oversee a program to review loan files and identify compliance issues.
    • Prepare and submit accurate regulatory reports, and maintain compliance records.
    • Create and deliver compliance training for staff.
    • Manage regulatory engagements and submissions, and advise on compliance queries.
    • Develop a risk management framework, address emerging risks, and update policies as needed.
    • Work with various teams to ensure integrated compliance across departments.
    • Resolve compliance-related customer complaints fairly.

    Compliance Officer Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
    • At least 3 years in mortgage compliance, auditing, or a related field
    • In-depth knowledge of residential mortgage regulations, credit agreements, and compliance tools
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Experience with regulatory reporting, audits, risk management, and SEC private equity fund compliance is preferred.

    Compensation: $80-105K + 10% bonus
