Concrete Estimator - Concrete and Masonry Framing - Base Salary to 95k/year - Stuart, FL
Our client is a shell company that specializes in Concrete, Masonry, and Framing scopes and has 75 + years of combined experience in the commerical and residential construction industry in Florida.
Currently they are looking for a Concrete Estimator to join their team due to growth. The Concrete Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating costs associated with concrete construction projects, ensuring bids are competitive yet profitable. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of construction methods and materials.
Responsibilities:
Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work, materials required, and construction methods.
Perform quantity take-offs and calculations for materials, reinforcement, formwork, and other related items using appropriate software and tools.
Prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals based on labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Ensure estimates are competitive yet profitable.
Obtain and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors. Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve the best value for the project.
Compile all necessary documentation, including bid forms, specifications, and supporting documents. Ensure bids are submitted on time and comply with client requirements.
Identify potential risks and opportunities during the estimating process. Provide recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project profitability.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to clarify project requirements and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise during the estimating process.
Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience estimating concrete, masonry and/or construction scopes within the commerical and/or residential construction industry.
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required. Will look at experience over degree.
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and MS Excel.
Compensation:
Base salary in the 73k – 95k/year range
Annual bonus based on personal and company performance
