Job Summary:
The Concrete Foreman works under the direct supervision of the General Superintendent and supervises the work of concrete laborers responsible for Concrete Demolition along with preparing, placing, finishing, and curing concrete. The Concrete Foreman prepares work schedules for concrete laborers, estimate the amount of labor and materials required for concrete construction projects, and consult blueprints and drawings to ensure accuracy.

Education:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent
· Valid driver’s license
Experience:
· 8 years of construction experience, including experience in a leadership or supervisory position
· Proven experience working as a Concrete Foreman
Skills:
· Detailed knowledge of concrete construction procedures and OSHA guidelines.
· Experience with blueprint reading, concrete finishing, and managing crews.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent verbal communications skills and ability to foster relationships with employees at all levels within the organization.
· Strong creative problem-solving skills.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently as well as in team environments, often under tight deadline situations, in a dynamic, unstructured, fast paced work environment.
Responsibilities:
· Coordinate tasks and schedules for crew members to meet short term 3-5 week schedules.
· Prepare JSA for each shift and brief crew members based on the activities being performed prior to starting the shift.
· Supervise workers throughout the shift, ensuring safety, appropriate work stoppages, and organization.
· Identify and take advantage of opportunities to increase productivity and improve overall project schedule.
· Resolve problems with projects, materials, and workers as they arise.
· Overseeing all activities pertaining to concrete demolition, preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing.
· Dividing concrete construction projects into different stages and evaluating how much labor and materials are required for each stage.
· Resolving all problems that may affect project quality and completion.
· Consulting blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.
· Delegating tasks to concrete laborers and providing overall guidance.
· Maintaining accurate records of the number of hours worked and the number of materials used for each project. Ensuring that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.
· Inspecting concrete after the formwork and shoring has been removed and instructing concrete laborers on how to correct defects and concrete roughness.
Physical Demands / Working Environment:
Willing to work in 3’ of water on submerged scaffolding.
· Work is performed in the field and in all weather conditions.
· Lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, squatting for various periods of time.
· The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· Able to safely execute duties in and around heavy equipment/large machinery in marine dredging and marine construction job sites.
· Able to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) required of various construction work environments (hard hats, safety glasses, personal flotation devices, respirators, etc.)
· Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials up to 50 pounds.
