    The Conflicts Analyst, Ethical Walls (the “Analyst”) supports the firm’s risk management need and new business function by drafting and maintaining ethical walls in compliance with the firm's policies. The Analyst is responsible for administering these ethical walls, which govern access to documents and information by attorneys and staff involved in the firm's matters. This role is essential in ensuring that client and firm data remains confidential. The Analyst also assists with the creation of walls reports, maintenance of existing walls and special projects as assigned. This position will also support the department in performing thorough and accurate conflict of interest checks on all proposed new representations and lateral attorney hiring on an as needed basis.

    Workweek Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. ET or CT time.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary contact in the Conflicts department for wall requests and issues
    • Work closely with Conflicts Director and Conflicts Attorneys to determine the need for walls, draft and distribute wall memos with approval
    • Track and implement walls for lateral candidates as needed
    • Manage the administration of the firm’s ethical walls software, update the conflicts database with wall information, and update wall templates as needed
    • Assist Conflicts Director with the maintenance and troubleshooting of ethical wall software, including development and testing of new or upgraded software and workflows
    • Participate in testing, development, and analytic activities related to the Conflicts Department’s walls tools and processes
    • Monitor wall activity to ensure compliance and disable walls when no longer needed and review monthly reports and investigate and resolve timekeeper file or document access issues
    • Work with Conflicts teams to address time sensitive issues and ad hoc ethical wall related questions
    • Enters and updates data in the firm’s conflicts database and conducts database searches to identify potential conflicts with matters already in system and generates conflicts reports for analysis by firm’s Conflicts Attorneys.
    • Performs other duties and projects as assigned

    • Basic knowledge of conflicts of interest issues
    • Keen attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information
    • High level of knowledge and ability related to technical systems associated with law firm conflicts and new business intake
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with attorneys and staff
    • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment; work independently with attention to detail; adapt to changing priorities; and meet deadlines and daily requirements
    • Demonstrated ability to follow data entry conventions and enter data accurately
    • Demonstrated ability to master new technology applications
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Word and Excel.

    ** _ Education_**

    The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    ** _ Experience_**

    The position requires a minimum of three years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience during which knowledge, skills and abilities applicable to the position were demonstrated.

    Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. The salary range for this position is $67,000-$90,000. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. Other benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, and all-purpose leave. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
