Reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations/SWA and is responsible for the administration of all phases of the men’s and women’s rowing program in accordance with NCAA Division I rules and philosophies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Recruiting qualified student-athletes for the program
- Establishing goals and directions for the operation of the program and developing a successful program athletically and academically
- Working with the men’s and women’s rowing teams through practice, instruction, conditioning and competition to ensure the most successful programs possible
- Supervising two full-time assistant coaches including hiring, disciplining, or separation decisions and taking full responsibility for training, mentoring and evaluating assistant coaches
- Supervising all scheduling and traveling arrangements for the program
- Assisting in the marketing and fundraising efforts of the program, the athletic department and the University
- Managing and adhering to a budget to be determined by the Senior Associate AD for Internal Operations/SWA
- Overseeing and managing academic performance of both teams
- Organizing and maintaining a winter and spring break training camps for outside groups and visiting teams to promote the University, the Athletics Department and the rowing program
- Motivates and inspires student-athletes to excel in the classroom and in the water
- Attends functions related to the rowing program
- Prepares reports
- Evaluates team members
- Trains and supervises assistant coach(es) toward the end of developing head coach capabilities and supporting all program objectives
- Manage a cost-effective and administratively efficient sport program
- Conform to the highest standards of professional conduct regarding compliance with department and institutional policies and procedures and adherence to the rules and regulations of Stetson University, the MAAC Conference (Women’s Rowing only) and the NCAA. Performing other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Associate AD for Internal Operations/SWA

The Sandra Stetson Aquatic Center is the new home for the Stetson Men’s and Women’s Rowing programs. This position will be a vital member of the Aquatic Center.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degre; Master's preferred

As this position requires operation of University vehicles (automobiles and watercraft) and traveling for recruiting purposes, must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the University’s auto insurance carrier.
Salary Grade: 8
