    Job Description

    The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 annually.

    The Construction & Development Accountant - SAP will be responsible for managing the accounting around the construction and development of owner entity properties from inception to completion of the development and capitalization of the property. They are responsible for tracking of all property development costs through the Yardi job cost system and for accurately recording and accounting for owner entity fixed assets records. They will work closely with our Accounting and Finance teams.

    In this position, the main responsibilities include:

    • Track development costs through Yardi job cost, reconciling monthly construction pay applications, preparing month construction draws request to submit to lenders for funding and submitting payments to vendor and contractors based on approved costs.
    • Enter approved budgets and manage budget changes throughout the development cycle in job cost system.
    • Efficiently monitor and report on development project status and any project plan variances.
    • Prepare monthly draw reports for Sr. Management review.
    • Work with development team and contractors to resolve any reconciliation discrepancies.
    • Verify coding for construction related invoices for A/P processing.
    • Research and reconcile all discrepancies.
    • Facilitate and monitor reimbursements to/from general contractors.
    • Work closely with assigned property accountant to successfully transfer responsibility to manage accounting for owner properties once development is complete.

    To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences, strengths, and skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in a relevant disciple or commensurate experience is required.
    • At least 3 years of real estate or construction accounting experience.
    • Knowledge of Yardi Accounting & Construction Management Software (a plus) and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Knowledge of accounting for Fixed Assets.
    • Demonstrates high-level understanding of all Project Accounting functions and GAAP.
    • Excellent management, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Highly professional demeanor and appearance.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate with vendors, lenders, contractors, and other team members.
