This thought process enables them to effectively serve their customers and build successful projects.
    • Currently, they are seeking a Construction Estimator to join their team. The Construction Estimator will prepare cost estimates for construction projects for purposes of bidding on or determining the cost/price of a project; retain quality subcontractors; and complete accurate project take-offs.

    Responsibilities:

Maintaining, updating and creating work packages within the Timberline system. Performing buy-out of all major subcontractors and suppliers on successful projects. Performing a post mortem on all bids.
    • Consulting with clients, vendors and personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve any related issues; preparing estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors; conferring with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates; preparing estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work.
    • Preparing cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of a project; assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects or services by tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops; reviewing material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components, if applicable; placing the project into Job Cost.
    • Attending and preparing all necessary documentation for turnover meetings and pre-bid conferences as assigned, including (i) completing the estimators checklist; (ii) reviewing all bid documents; (iii) establishing and reviewing responses to the ITB letter; (iv) preparing scope summary sheets; (v) performing take-off of all work items; (vi) preparing the estimate spreadsheet; and (vii) reviewing all subcontractor quotations.
    • Performing business development services of assigned projects, including contract development, budgeting, design, subcontracts, purchase orders, design review, customer relations and sales.
    • Preparing and maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.

    Qualifications:

    • 5 + years’ of related experience and/or training in estimating commercial projects for a General Contractor.
