Construction Estimator - Flooring Construction - Base Salary to 90k/year - Dallas, TX
Our client is a flooring company that has a great opportunity for a Construction Estimator to join their dynamic team. They have been in business since 2009 and continue to grow and succeed. They are a family owned and operated company running on decades of experience. Their core principle is their dedication to customer service. Due to growth they are in need of a Construction Estimator to join the team. The Construction Estimator will have the responsibility for accurately forecasting subcontractor cost, budget and bid packages for all flooring types (carpet, tile, vinyl, etc.) in multi-Family (garden, mid and high rise), Senior Living, Hospitality and Student Housing projects. Management relies on the estimates generated by the Construction Estimator to ensure margin and profitability of awarded contracts.
Responsibilities:
Perform accurate take-offs using a computer software program (RFMS) and Microsoft Excel to ensure estimates follow the Scope of Work
Prepare proposal/bid package for client presentation and review
Identify scope gaps, and clarify plans and specifications with architects and engineers
Document seams and cuts to allow others to follow behind you
Develop relationships with suppliers for material pricing and value engineering exercises
Communicate with a wide variety of professionals including architects, owner representatives, general contractors, and suppliers
Consistently strive to improve individual capabilities, performance and expand knowledge of construction technologies and techniques.
Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in estimating.
Knowledge in floor covering (carpet, tile, wood, and vinyl).
Proficient at interpreting complex drawings and specifications
Previous experience working with blueprints is helpful.
Track record of meeting hard deadlines that are directly tied to revenue generation.
Must be proficient with MS Office software, specifically Excel.
