Construction Inspector - Marine Construction - Base Salary to 85k/year - Tampa, FL
Our client is a construction management firm that takes on interesting marine and shoreline projects throughout the US, with a focus on the Southeast. They work most frequently with federal agencies, and are currently hiring for a 1-2 year project in Yankeetown, FL starting in February, with other projects lined up behind this one.
The Construction Inspector role is for someone who has experience working on federal construction projects, with marine construction as a scope. The Construction Inspector will be in an observe and report position, and not directly responsible for project means and methods. Relocation to project required, housing provided.
Responsibilities:
Attend construction quality control, progress, and other conferences and meetings
Take meeting minutes and distribute
Review, analyze and make recommendations including on preparation of cost estimates and time/schedule impacts
Provide daily inspection and surveillance of construction work to ensure the work is in accordance with the construction contract
Notify COR of non-compliant work and then issue a Non-Conformance Notice to the construction contractor
Witness field tests and review all testing reports accomplished by the contractor for conformance with specifications
Establish and maintain a log of all field tests as required
Perform surveillance of survey operations for layout and elevations of construction work
Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log, develop and maintain a filing system for submittals
Inform COR, contractor, and construction rep of safety violations
Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor's payment requests
Verify quantities of all work in place, materials stored onsite and all skilled and non-skilled laborers onsite employed by the construction contractor or subcontractors
Review and acknowledge Contractor's Daily Reports including verification of the project schedule
Maintain orderly working files for correspondence, meeting minutes and conferences, payments, updated progress schedules, monthly progress reports, punch lists, field changes, RFIs and contract documents including amendments, notices to proceed, change orders, modifications, and other locally generated documents developed during the course of construction
Qualifications:
10+ years construction experience required
2+ years of federal project experience required
2+ years of marine construction experience preferred
Ability to work on-site in Yankeetown, FL for project duration
