The role we want you for:
The Construction Jobsite Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for supporting and overseeing the implementation of sustainability and environmental best practices at construction sites. This role ensures that sustainability initiatives are effectively integrated into project operations, in compliance with our corporate sustainability commitments (SBTi, Contractor’s Commitment) and goals, and as needed for green building certifications (such as LEED, WELL, etc.).
Position Overview:
- Coordinate and implement Clayco’s site-specific sustainability initiatives including carbon, energy, water, waste and materials.
- Track sustainability data, such as energy usage, carbon t, material recycling rates, and water conservation efforts.
- Support the development and execution of policies for waste diversion strategies (e.g., recycling, composting, reuse), air quality, energy and water.
- Ensure accurate documentation for LEED, WELL, or other green building certification credits.
- Coordinate regular job-site meetings (virtually) to identify opportunities for improvements in environmental performance.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and job site personnel to promote sustainable practices as warranted.
- Prepare sustainability progress reports for internal and external stakeholders as warranted.
- Stay up to date with evolving sustainability regulations, trends, and certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Construction Management, Sustainability, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a construction or sustainability-focused role preferred.
- Knowledge of green building standards (LEED, WELL, Living Building Challenge, etc.).
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of sustainability tracking tools is a plus.
- LEED Green Associate or equivalent certification is preferred.
