Responsibilities: • Delegate tasks to administrative staff and paralegals and oversee clerks to set up client billing, meetings, and wrap up of case projects • Assess, modify, and create construction contracts, government contracts, and contractor agreements to address general liability and payment protection issues • Settle and resolve disputes regarding contracts, payments, construction defects, bond claims, torts, and liens to avoid litigation and arbitration when possible • Litigate, negotiate, arbitrate, mediate, and argue motions to represent clients during legal proceedings in court • Draft various legal documents, such as claims, motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence on behalf of the client Qualifications: • Relevant knowledge of the construction industry including building codes, safety regulations, contracts, processes, methods, and labor law, is required • Completion of an accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree is required • Minimum 3 years litigation experience and dispute resolution success as a general counsel or defense attorney is desired • Superb decision-making, problem-solving, writing, interpersonal, and communication skills are vital • Must be an active member of the ABA/local bar association • Be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision Compensation: 100000 - 130000 yearly
