    Construction Procurement Manager - Heavy Civil and Utility Construction - Base Salary to 130k/year - Bronx, NY

    • Our client is a heavy civil company that takes on utility, concrete, and sitework projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. Projects range from a few million up to 140 million, and can encompass street construction, pier restoration, utility replacement, shore protection, substation work, etc.
    • In this role, the Construction Procurement Manager will be responsible for product sourcing, vendor negotiation, supply chain management, budgeting, and compliance for their procurement operations. The Construction Procurement Manager must be a construction procurement expert, at least with commercial but preferably with civil or government construction experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies for heavy civil construction projects
    • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor performance to ensure the best value and compliance with project requirements
    • Identify and source heavy construction materials, equipment, and services, including aggregates, concrete, steel, heavy machinery, and specialty items needed for infrastructure projects
    • Negotiate, draft, and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring alignment with company policies, project specifications, and legal compliance
    • Oversee inventory levels and delivery schedules, coordinating with project managers and site teams to prevent delays and optimize material usage
    • Monitor procurement budgets, track costs, and generate cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or schedule
    • Identify and mitigate procurement risks by assessing suppliers' reliability, compliance with safety and quality standards, and project-specific needs
    • Ensure procurement activities align with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards, maintaining accurate records and documentation

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years experience in construction procurement, commercial at least, heavy civil and government experience preferred
    • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and supplier network
    • Proven experience in contract negotiation
    • Proficiency in procurement and PM software (e.g. HCSS, Sage 300)
    • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards within the industry

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 100k – 130k/year range
