Job Description: Construction Project Accountant
Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Construction Project Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction accounting. As a Construction Project Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial aspects of construction projects to ensure their successful completion within budget and timeline. Your expertise will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate project costing.
Responsibilities:
Purchase Orders/Change orders/Invoices
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders in System for invoices as approved by Project Manager
- Prepare and process Purchase order increases in Procore System.
- Maintain invoices current and route for Project Manager’s approval.
- Prepare Subcontractor & Owner change orders, (change events, PCO’s and PCCO’s)
- Follow up with vendors, owners and subcontractors on a regular basis for payments and other items as necessary.
- Maintain communication with Owner rep and clients on a regular basis.
- Submit invoices on a regular basis to accounting for payment processing as necessary.
Direct Purchase Orders (exempt for owner) Process
- DPO tracking of invoices and change orders
- DPO invoices log
- Review exceptions from supplier and follow up with Subcontractor and Owner as needed.
Owner billings
- Review with Project Manager on the tracking log activity for month.
- Prepare billing documents for Project Manager to review on a monthly basis.
- Setup call with Project Manager on billing timeline.
- Follow up with Project Manager on the approvals of Sub billings and Misc. invoices.
- Compiling backup and gross amounts on billing support on a regular basis.
Subcontractor billings
- Open and close Textura monthly billing draws for the assigned Project.
- Assist Project Manager in reviewing sub billings based on amount billed by subcontractor
- Maintain effective communication with Subcontractors and vendors on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of lien waivers and construction forms and documents used on a regular basis.
- At least 3 Years of Field Construction Accounting experience is required.
