Construction Project Engineer - High End Custom Homes - Base Salary to 85k/year - Montrose, CO
Our client is an ICC Class A, full-service GC that specializes in high-end resort custom homes, hospitality, and commercial multi-family projects. Their team brings unique experience and knowledge to their projects, creating value for communities and developments. Each team member utilizes their strengths, allowing them to elevate their market presence from known regional players to a national leader in the luxury custom home marketplace.
They are seeking a Construction Project Engineer to assist their project team with pre-construction activities.
Responsibilities:
Pre-construction Bidding and estimating process.
Review construction design plans and identify scope of work items.
Creation of preliminary preconstruction schedules.
RFI Management.
Project handoff.
Attend meetings as designated.
Assist the project team with Course of Construction activities such as:
Attend meetings and assist with meeting minutes.
Assist with Drawing and Document control/management.
Assist with buyout process for subs and material vendors.
Ensure requirements of contracts and scopes of work are met.
Tracking and reviewing of submittals.
Assist with Pay Applications.
Review and assemble change order submittals.
Estimate, prepare, and negotiate change orders
Assist with monthly WIP reports.
Preparation and maintenance of RFI logs.
Support the PM and Superintendents with coding and processing of invoices.
Project photo documentation and organization.
Support schedule management.
Preparing and distributing O&M Manuals and other close out requirements.
Document and manage punch list work.
Maintain Owner, Subcontractor, and client Relationships.
Assist Superintendent with site safety related tasks.
Assist with day-to-day operations and project management.
Qualifications:
4-Year Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2+ Years Commercial Construction Project Engineer and/or Pre-Construction experience preferred, with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), ProCore
Experience, working knowledge and thorough comprehension with Construction Design and Plans.
Experience and working knowledge with estimating and scheduling software is a plus. (CPM)
OSHA 10/30 Certification is a plus.
Basic understanding of construction cost accounting.
Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
Drafting and advanced computer skills a plus.
Knowledge of virtual construction technology systems preferred.
