Position Overview:
As a Commercial Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of commercial construction projects. You will oversee all aspects of project management, from initial planning through to completion. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage commercial construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints while developing and maintaining project budgets and closely monitoring costs.
Create and manage detailed project schedules, tracking progress to meet deadlines, and proactively monitor the CPM schedule through updates.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, subcontractors, and construction crews, to foster effective communication and teamwork for successful project execution.
Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and project specifications through regular inspections, audits, and a full understanding of the design process for quality control review of plans and specifications.
Maintain excellent communication with clients, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Identify potential project risks, develop contingency plans, and implement solutions to prevent issues from escalating into problems.
Oversee and enforce strict safety protocols on-site, ensuring compliance with regulations and accountability among team members.
Build strong relationships with other departments, leading teams to maximize each member's contributions and guiding the design team as needed.
Review and provide input on prime contracts, ensuring understanding of contractual obligations and documenting all changes or deviations from contract documents.
Supervise project teams, providing overall administration and technical direction for single or multiple projects, while coordinating activities with owners, public agencies, and utility companies to achieve project goals.
Assist in the proposal phase by writing project management plans, creating schedules, and reviewing proposals, while also developing a prequalified subcontractor bidders list.
Negotiate subcontract modifications to manage risk, ensuring compliance with prime and subcontractor contractual requirements prior to work execution.
Provide comprehensive design reviews, work with the Design Admin, offering insights on cost, feasibility, and completeness while assisting with design management.
Ensure prompt and accurate reporting of costs, changes, schedules, and insurance data, while reviewing and approving change order requests and onsite changes.
Exhibit a strong commitment to customer service, both internal and external, fulfilling the company's mission and stewardship responsibilities.
Qualifications:
5 years of related experience working on commercial construction projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or other related field. However, we believe experience is just as valuable. If you have over 5 years as a Commercial Construction Project Manager we encourage you to apply.
Software: Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Builder Trend, Plan Swift, Auto Desk, Excel, Procore experience a plus.
OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
Demonstrate the ability to professionally communicate with the project team, project owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve positive results.
Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen.
