Arlington, Virginia health system seeks a Construction Project Manager to manager to oversee the planning, design, implementation, and tracking of a range of construction projects from inception through completion.
Responsibilities:
- Manage both short-term and long-term projects, ensuring they align with the health system’s high standards for quality and efficiency.
- Consult, assist and make recommendations all aspects of planning for the project constructions.
- Provides comprehensive leadership and coordination for the facilities project delivery process.
- Review the architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical and structural plans and specifications as they are being developed and advise and make recommendations with respect to such factors as construction feasibility, possible economics, availability of materials and labor, time requirements for procurement and construction and project costs.
- Manage multiple projects and teams ensuring their secure, safe, and environmentally sound operations that support infection prevention protocols by demonstrating the functional use of Infection Control Risk Assessment tools including containment, negative air, HEPA filtration, flexible personnel and material egress, as well as interim life safety measures, and monitoring techniques for patient safety and a timely, cost-effective completion of their projects.
- Make recommendations for and process request for changes in the work and maintain records of change orders.
- Prepare a budget estimate based on a quality survey of the plans and specifications at the preliminary stage at development and final cost estimate when plans and specifications are complete.
- Review plans and specifications to eliminate areas of conflict and overlapping in the work to be performed by the various trades.
- Recommend for purchase and expedite the procurement of long-lead items to ensure their delivery by required dates.
- Inspect the work as it is being performed until final completion and accepted by the Department Head to assure that the materials furnished and work performed are in accordance with the working drawings and specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required.
- Four years of construction experience in institutional construction, facilities planning, or healthcare is required.
- One year of experience in physical plant operations and construction - building renovations is required.
- PMP preferred
Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
