    Job Description

    Turner & Townsend is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Scheduler to work with a key biotechnology client on a large-scale facilities expansion program in South San Francisco.

    This role will act as a Scheduling Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a major biotechnology client’s portfolio, which includes approximately 20 active projects overseen by 6 Project Managers. You will provide expert scheduling guidance to Project Managers, ensure vendor schedules are thoroughly quality-checked, approve schedule-related change orders, and monitor the overall health of the portfolio.

    The Portfolio/Project Scheduler will also collaborate closely with Project Managers to develop and manage integrated project schedules, participate in OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings and schedule reviews, perform quality checks on vendor schedules, conduct site visits as needed, and generate schedule reports.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project scheduling, excellent analytical abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects with great attention to detail.

    Responsibilities:

    • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our client's construction project portfolio, offering expert guidance and support to Project Managers to ensure effective scheduling and planning.
    • Review and validate the quality and accuracy of vendor schedules to ensure alignment with project requirements.
    • Review and approve change orders related to schedule adjustments, ensuring all modifications are documented and accurately represented in the project timeline.
    • Regularly assess the overall health of the portfolio, identifying risks and opportunities, and proactively providing recommendations to maintain schedule integrity.
    • Collaborate with assigned Project Managers to develop, integrate, and maintain project schedules that align with project objectives and deadlines.
    • Attend and actively participate in OAC meetings and schedule review sessions to provide insight and updates on project progress and scheduling.
    • Generate, distribute, and present periodic schedule reports, keeping stakeholders informed of project status and key developments.
    • Perform thorough reviews and quality checks on vendor-supplied schedules to verify accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with the project’s overall timeline.
    • Conduct on-site inspections as necessary to collect relevant data and insights for schedule updates and management.
    • Assist in the evaluation and incorporation of schedule changes and their impact on project deliverables and timelines.
    • Work with the broader Project Control team on various strategic initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of project delivery.
    • Assist with the maintenance and administration of client's portfolio management system, ensuring accurate data input and system functionality as needed.
    • Provide additional support to the Project Control team and project managers as required.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. PMP, PMI-SP, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
    • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling, with at least 2 years focused on portfolio-level management for multiple projects.
    • Experience with scheduling large/medium projects is highly desired.
    • Proficient in scheduling tools, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for schedule quality checks.
    • Excellent communication skills to liaise between Project Managers, vendors, and the Project Control team.
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Solid understanding of project management principles and construction industry standards.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
    • Experience with portfolio management systems.

    Additional Information

    *Onsite / in-office work is required. This is not a remote role.

    The salary range for this full-time role is ** $140K-$160K** per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
