    Job Title: Construction Superintendent

    Position Summary:

    APD Construction, LLC, a leading General Contractor, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Superintendent to join our team. The Construction Superintendent will play a vital role in providing on-site coordination for all phases of renovations and new construction projects for commercial (private and government) and residential clients, subcontractors, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule. The Superintendent shall be responsible for managing scheduling, coordinating inspections, quality control, and job site safety. This is a salary/W2 compensation position.

    Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Superintendent:

    Manage schedule provided by project team and coordinate subcontractors, employees, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.

    Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed and materials are delivered on time and according to purchase orders specifications.

    Communicate with project team regarding materials damaged, missing or inconsistencies with P.O’s.

    Responsible to obtain in advance, from project team, the scope of work to be performed by subcontractors.

    Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.

    Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.

    Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified.

    Identify conflicts/issues in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.

    Maintain daily log of activities on the jobsite.

    Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously as required.

    Walk all areas on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.

    Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.

    Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regards to quality of work or scheduling.

    Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.

    Perform job progress and completion of punch list tasks.

    Opening the jobsite at beginning of the day and securing the jobsite at the end of the day.

    Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst subcontractors and vendors.

    Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.

    Communicate using the following tools: telephone, text messages, written logs, emails, digital camera.

    Blueprint reading.

    Physically lift up to 100 lbs.

    Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.

    Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds to customer needs.

    Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality.

    Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.

    Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.

    Must have valid driver’s license and be able to travel to the jobsite(s) as assigned.

    The employee is required to use at all times company provided vest and, if the project requires for safety on site, a provided helmet.

    Education and/or Experience:

    Minimum of five years of verifiable and relevant experience, thorough knowledge of trades and computer literate. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak fluently English and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to present/speak before groups of customers, vendors or employees of the organization.

    OSHA certified (preferred)

    Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus
