Construction Superintendent - GC Firm - Base Salary to 125k/year - Laurel, MD
Our client is an established Healthcare and Life Sciences Market Sector GC in the DMV area that has been in business for over 50 years. They pride themselves on the company's stellar reputation for timely, flexible, and high-quality service.
Currently they are seeking a Construction Superintendent with Healthcare and/or Life Sciences experience to join their team in order to continue their growth.
Responsibilities:
Embrace safety and actively provide leadership in safety compliance and enforcement
Lead the preparation of AHAs (activity hazard analysis) and implement as planned
Ensure everyone onsite knows policies and procedures during an emergency situation
Maintain certifications for First Aid, CPR and OSHA
Assist Project Manager and team members with job specific tasks
Maintain all necessary jobsite compliance documents and postings as required; keep job board organized and up to date
Understand ICRA / ILSM and documentation requirements; train others on-site as needed
Check ICRA barriers and equipment multiple times during shift; keep documentation and records current at all times

Be 100% responsible for job-site cleanliness; keep organization and housekeeping as a priority
Review contract documents, including specifications; know the job better than your team members and the subcontractors
Plan and execute jobsite logistics in an effective and compliant fashion
Put in place and maintain jobsite field office as needed for duration of project
Assist in the preparation of job specific QC plan; coordinate kick off meetings with team and subcontractors prior to their arrival on site for their trades work
Coordinate and schedule QC inspections during entire project
Thoroughly review subcontractor RFIs with management team; provide solutions for RFIs
Gather, verify and log all necessary on-site documentation into project management software.
Embrace Procore and become expert of its functions and capabilities
Prepare and upload daily logs into project management software, track company labor forces
Assist in the ordering of materials and equipment needed for self-performed work
Assist in preparation of project schedule from start with Project Manager and identify target milestone dates; meet or complete early milestones for close-ins, commissioning, final inspections, etc.
Maintain project schedules on a weekly basis, coordinate with team members for input and adjustments to schedule as needed to maintain on-time completion
Prepare company look ahead schedules EVERY WEEK and ensure distribution to subcontractors
Participate in the review and coordination of critical submittals with management team
Work with Project Manager to ensure procurement strategy is in-line with schedule needs
Attend all weekly progress meetings with owner and LEAD subcontractor meetings
Effectively communicate with your team, owner and subcontractors always
Understand the company’s subcontract terms and utilize/enforce when needed
Review CORs with Project Manager to confirm all scopes for change orders have been included
Coordinate MEP outages with subcontractors and client as needed; submit timely outage paperwork and verify completion / restored services prior to leaving site
Assist team members with close-out; coordinate as-builts and incorporate all field adjustments
Track, coordinate and verify pricing documentation, such as T&M tickets etc.
Arrange for dumpster swap-outs and obtain necessary recycling documentation
Ensure all jobsite and construction personnel security requirements specific to the owner are enforced for every work shift
Manage timely company truck/equipment/tool maintenance and professional appearance
Qualifications:
5+ years’ of experience as a Construction Superintendent preferably in Healthcare/Life Science markets.
OSHA 30 certification
Understanding of ICRA, ISLM and/or other protocols
Must be proficient with the use of computer/tablet software. Procore experience preferred.
