We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join a growing team in the DFW area. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience managing ground-up construction projects, specifically large-scale grocery stores. The candidate should possess tilt-up construction experience and have a track record of stability and strong tenure in their previous roles (3+ years at each employer). Experience in healthcare construction is a plus.
As a Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the construction site, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all activities on the construction site, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and safety protocols.
- Supervise and direct subcontractors, labor crews, and other site personnel. Ensure that all workers comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Lead the tilt-up construction process, including wall panel fabrication, installation, and related tasks. Ensure structural integrity and quality of work.
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor the quality of workmanship and resolve any issues that may arise during construction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress and address any concerns.
- Proactively identify potential issues and implement solutions to keep the project on track.
- Track project expenses and timelines. Take corrective action as needed to ensure projects stay within budget and meet deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies. Promote a culture of safety on-site.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent with a focus on large ground-up retail projects.
- Proven experience with tilt-up construction methods and processes.
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Strong employment history with 3+ years at previous employers.
- Healthcare construction experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Solid understanding of construction scheduling and budgeting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred, not required).
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
- Experience with large-scale commercial and/or retail construction projects.
