About the Role
As a Construction Superintendent, you’ll play a pivotal role in the successful planning and execution of our job sites. This is an on-site leadership position with no relocation assistance provided. You’ll lead day-to-day construction operations, maintain schedules, enforce safety protocols, and ensure quality standards are met. You’ll manage 1–2 job sites at a time, interfacing directly with clients, subcontractors, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Management
- Maintain and update job site schedules with a two-week and six-week look-ahead
- Lead pre-construction meetings and weekly site meetings
- Ensure adherence to all contract terms, safety standards, and quality benchmarks
- Document daily progress and issues via:
- Daily reports
- Morning huddles
- Weekly schedule updates
Problem Solving & Communication
- Proactively resolve field issues with minimal delays
- Foster strong relationships with subcontractors, architects, clients, and internal teams
- Utilize Microsoft Projects, PlanGrid, and Bluebeam for project documentation
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct site safety orientations and toolbox talks
- Manage and report safety incidents appropriately
- Keep the job site clean, organized, and hazard-free
Current & Upcoming Projects
- Mequon Ice Rink & Restaurant ($4M): Superintendent needed immediately
- Boutique Resort near Lake Geneva ($15M): 38 modern cabins, glass event barn, and hotel
- Hotel Madrid: 86-room boutique hotel (Summer 2025 start)
- 65-Unit Apartment Building: Ground-up project starting August
- Additional tenant improvements, office build-outs, and hospitality projects
Performance Metrics
First 90 Days
- Master project documents and plans
- Effectively manage subs, schedules, and site logistics
- Communicate proactively and document consistently
- Use Microsoft Projects, PlanGrid, and Bluebeam effectively
First 180 Days
- Earn the trust of PMs, clients, and subcontractors
- Maintain on-schedule construction timelines
- Implement repeatable processes for field operations
First 12 Months
- Deliver a successful project (on time, on budget, up to ADK standards)
- Build long-term relationships with team and external stakeholders
- Sustain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
Challenges in the First 90 Days
- Onboarding into an active job site
- Adapting to ADK's processes and project management platforms
- Earning trust and credibility on the job site quickly
Qualifications
Required
- 10+ years in a construction leadership/superintendent role
- Strong scheduling, coordination, and team leadership abilities
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Proficient in PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Microsoft Projects, and Outlook
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs and pass a background and drug screening
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Advanced safety training
- Finish carpentry trade experience
