Job Title: Learning Content Specialist (Front of House)
Compensation: $83,750 - $102,500 Annual Salary
The base salary or hourly wage range for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. About the Role:
Din Tai Fung is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Learning Content Specialist for Front of House (FOH) operations. This role is responsible for assisting in the creation of training content and materials for various FOH positions, including Greeters, Servers, Bartenders, Bussers, and Cashiers. The ideal candidate will have some experience in FOH operations, technical writing, and content creation. This position plays a key role in supporting the FOH teams to maintain Din Tai Fung’s high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Content Development and Design
Assist in designing and developing FOH training materials, including step-by-step guides, instructional videos, and process documentation, using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation).
Ensure training materials are accurate, user-friendly, and tailored to the specific needs of each FOH role.
Format all FOH training materials to make sure they are aligned with brand standards.
Help incorporate new technology and media into training programs to enhance learning and engagement.
Subject Matter Expertise and Collaboration:
Apply knowledge of FOH operations to create relevant and practical training content.
Collaborate with FOH staff, restaurant management, and other SMEs to ensure training programs align with current best practices and operational standards
Participate in training content meetings and assist in holding contributors accountable to content delivery deadlines.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
Review and proofread training materials to ensure clarity, simplicity, and functionality within the restaurant environment.
Assist in testing training processes and materials in real-world scenarios to validate their effectiveness and usability.
Support the identification of opportunities for process improvements, curriculum enhancements, and new procedures, continually refining training content.
Training Program Management:
Help maintain an up-to-date Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure FOH training content is accessible to the target audiences.
Assist in developing tools for operational implementation training and execution, such as checklists and operational site visit reports.
Support training initiatives and programs to ensure timely and effective delivery.
Collaborate with the Field Training Team to implement and execute training content and programs, ensuring a seamless handoff and successful deployment.
Communication and Feedback:
Communicate clearly and effectively, using appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and logic, adjusting communication style to the audience.
Gather and incorporate feedback from FOH staff and management to improve training programs continually.
Assist in the rollout of new menu items and operational changes by creating detailed training materials, such as PowerPoints, posters, and checkbook inserts.
Job Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in learning and educational content development, with a focus on FOH operations.
Bachelor’s degree from a university
Demonstrated ability to write detailed and systematic process guides.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and content creation tools (e.g., Articulate, SCORM).
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite for designing training materials.
Expertise in Google Suite for collaboration and content management.
Advanced skills in PowerPoint for creating engaging and informative presentations.
Knowledge of FOH operations in the restaurant industry.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Requirements:
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite for designing training materials.
Certification in Learning & Design
