Our law firm has a part-time associate attorney position available, and we’re looking for the right seasoned professional to join our team. You will be a part of a team of attorneys that meet to collaborate on ideas and issues to keep the practice moving forward, and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. You’ll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. No phone calls or emails, please Responsibilities: • Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings • Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action • Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action • Learn and follow firm policies and procedures • Meet monthly billable hour requirements • Representing clients in court appearances Qualifications: • Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys • Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA) • Must have a State of Georgia bar license in good standing • At least 3 years of family law experience required • At least 1 year of probate experience preferred • Enjoys working for and with people of diverse, ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills are required in order to work with clients, staff members, and other attorneys • Ability to work through a case from open to close • Strives for excellence • Ability to be empathetic, compassionate, but tenacious Compensation: $70 - $100 per hour
