    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Contract Executive is responsible for providing the leadership and support necessary to successfully grow Southland Industries’ business in revenue and operating income. This role will drive growth through new customer acquisition, as well as identify opportunities which derive from the existing customer base.



    What you’ll do:

    • Markets by understanding the relationship of cash flow and overhead and by utilizing that knowledge to sell the work at the right price. Maximizes profits in order to exceed corporate financial goals by knowing costs, being aware of all value engineering, scope changes and change order opportunities. Pursues and secures those opportunities as well as by building all projects at or below the estimated costs and by collecting monies owed in a timely fashion.
    • Develops and executes business plan for marketing. Supports and enhances a collateral working relationship with the division construction manager and other division Contract Executives. Develops and manages personnel requirements, overhead/capital requirements and revenue/profit projections.
    • Accurately and consistently forecasts total project costs and profits for every project to ensure projects have been priced properly and are being managed and built efficiently by using labor feedback, materials management and financial analysis techniques.
    • Is able to understand projected revenue, margins, overhead and profits in order to provide the division with the projected and expected rate of return through his sales efforts.
    • Demonstrates leadership in order to both properly represent the image of the company, as well as to provide a role model for all of the employees. Instills confidence in our customers, by being an ethical individual who makes and fulfills commitments, by being positive, diligent and hard-working and by constantly improving.
    • Provide direct leadership and management to assigned division of project managers, project engineers and project foremen.
    • Foster team spirit in order to help build a strong corporate esprit de corp by committing extra time and effort to assist all profit centers and support teams in the divisions. Assists estimating, accounting and field by freely giving his own time to help peers and subordinates in their times of need and in their professional growth and development.
    • Builds mutually beneficial long-term relationships with subcontractors and suppliers in order to ensure the best pricing, job-site performance, service and quality by understanding the products and services which he is purchasing, by being fair and ethical in all aspects of the relationship and by focusing on the corporate mission statement.
    • Commits to providing the internal customers in the company with all of the things which they need to do the jobs in order to help the company run efficiently. To ensure quality within the company and to ensure a high morale level by getting paperwork in on time, by meeting commitments and deadlines and by promptly attending corporate meetings and functions.
    • Actively participates in the corporate training process in order to build a highly and uniformly educated work force and to provide a demonstration of importance of continuing education for all team members by both teaching and taking classes within the corporate training program and outside of the company.
    • Actively participates in industry organizations as a leader to promote Southland Industries capabilities.

    What you’ll need to be successful:

    • HVAC Plumbing and Process piping systems, business management, sales, marketing and operations
    • Good interpersonal communications both internally and with clients and vendors.
    • Solid understanding of contracts and ability to formulate business correspondence
    • BS or BA degree in engineering or construction management or the equivalent of 8+ years experience
