Contract Paralegal - Trust Administration, Conservatorship And/Or Probate
Seeking an experienced Contract Paralegal to join our growing boutique law firm in Newport Beach, CA. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate legal services specializing in Trust Administrations, First Party Special Needs Planning, Conservatorships, and/or Probate. This remote role requires expertise in one or more of these areas and meeting the specified qualifications. Responsibilities: Experience in any of the following areas: • Handling trust administration – decedent’s estate matters with the ability to handle such cases from beginning to end, including, but not limited to preparing mandatory notices and deeds • Experience with preparing and filing Conservatorship and/or Probate Petitions, with the ability to handle such cases from beginning to end • Preparing a Fiduciary’s Report and Account • Drafting Petitions and pleadings • Filing documents with the Court, including e-filing • Recording deeds via Simplifile and directly with County Recorder Offices • Preparing Judicial Council Forms • Communications with clients and ancillary individuals to obtain information and documents and provide status updates • Corresponding with the Court, including clerks of the Court and probate examiners • Checking Probate notes and preparing Supplements for the purpose of responding to Probate notes • Understanding and knowledge of the California Rules of Court and Local Court Rules for Orange County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County Qualifications: • Paralegal certification or qualify as a paralegal under California Business & Professions Code 6450 • Has strong computer skills and extensive experience using MS Office Suite, timekeeping, and remote video software such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom. • Is someone of character with compassion, intelligence, and grit • Experience in any of the following areas in Trust Administrations-Decedent’s Estates, First Party Special Needs Planning, Conservatorships, and/or Probate • Ability to manage and handle the assigned cases from beginning to end with minimal supervision Compensation: $25 - $40 hourly, DOE
