    Job Description

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Contract Specialist to join our team. The Contract Specialist will be responsible for the preparation, review, negotiation, and management of contracts with a focus on Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), architectural and engineering agreements, AIA agreements, and other related documents. This role will also involve supporting the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and managing change orders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review and Draft Contracts : Prepare, review, and negotiate various contract types, including NDAs, architectural and engineering agreements, AIA agreements, and other related documents.
    • Contract Management : Ensure contract terms and conditions are adhered to, track key deadlines, and maintain a centralized repository for all contract-related documents.
    • Request for Proposals (RFPs) : Assist in finalization of RFPs, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Change Orders : Draft and review change orders, ensuring all modifications are properly documented, negotiated, and agreed upon by all parties.
    • Risk Assessment : Analyze contract terms to identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies. Ensure that all agreements are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams, including legal, finance, project management, and engineering, to gather necessary information for contracts and to resolve any contract-related issues.
    • Vendor/Client Communication : Serve as a point of contact for vendors and clients regarding contract-related negotiations. Facilitate negotiation sessions when necessary to ensure favorable terms for the company.
    • Process Improvement : Continuously assess and improve contract management processes and tools to enhance efficiency and compliance.
    • Reporting : Provide regular updates on contract status, upcoming deadlines, and any issues that require resolution to stakeholders.
    • Perform all other related duties assigned by manager or supervisor.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Experience in contract review, preferably in a construction, engineering, or architecture-related field.
    • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to read, interpret, and draft complex contract language.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with contract management software is a plus.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Knowledge of AIA contract documents , architectural and engineering agreements, and other industry-specific contracts.
    • Experience with RFPs , change orders, and SOWs.
    • Knowledge of construction and engineering terminology.
    • Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal regulations affecting contracts in the construction and engineering industries.
    • Certifications related to legal field or contract review is a plus.
