    Introduction Roots Through Recovery has been providing comprehensive, trauma-focused addiction and mental health services in the Long Beach community since 2017. We are actively seeking Contracted Group Facilitators within our outpatient substance use and co-occurring treatment center. As a certified group facilitator, this position offers a unique opportunity to support adults and adolescents on their journey towards healing and recovery.

    Position Overview As a Contracted Group Facilitator, your primary role will be to provide therapeutic support and guidance to individuals participating in group therapy and counseling sessions within our treatment center. Through your expertise in substance use, mental health, trauma, and group dynamics, you will help create a safe and healing space for individuals to explore their challenges, share their experiences, and gain insights and coping strategies to build resilience.

    Key Responsibilities

    Group Facilitation: Lead and facilitate evidence-based group therapy sessions, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for participants to engage in open dialogue, share their experiences, and receive feedback and guidance.

    Trauma-Informed Care: Apply trauma-informed principles and practices to ensure the emotional safety and well-being of group members. Create an environment that fosters trust, respect, and empowerment while being mindful of potential triggers and the impact of trauma on individuals.

    Promote Emotional Growth and Healing: Facilitate a range of evidence-based therapeutic activities, discussions, and interventions aimed at promoting emotional growth, healing, and the development of healthy coping strategies. Encourage group members to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a non-judgmental and supportive space.

    Maintain Ethical and Confidentiality Standards: Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements regarding confidentiality and professional conduct. Ensure that group members' privacy and confidentiality are protected at all times.

    Documentation and Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of group sessions, including attendance records, progress notes, and treatment plans. Collaborate with the treatment team to monitor the progress and outcomes of group therapy participants.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Valid C-Number with Los Angeles County to access SAGE/PCNX a plus!

    Hold valid certification as a drug and alcohol counselor (e.g., CADC, CAADC) or registration (e.g. RADT) in the state of California, with expertise in substance use disorders and co-occurring treatment OR a valid and unrestricted associate number or license as a mental health therapist (AMFT/ACSW or LMFT/LCSW/Psy.D)

    Demonstrated experience and expertise in trauma, group facilitation, and mental health treatment.

    Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-informed care principles, evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and best practices in group therapy.

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to create a supportive, non-judgmental, and empathetic therapeutic environment.

    Strong understanding of the unique needs of individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

    Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and effectively contribute to individualized treatment planning.

    Pay based on licensing and experience.
