    Job Summary:

    The individual in this role will be responsible for the monitoring and safe remote operations of multiple fish farming (RAS) systems, and associated utility systems during both normal and emergency situations.

    Job Description:

    Core areas of responsibility:

    Remotely control and monitor system operations, alarms, video surveillance, and communications of production facilities

    Recognize and respond to abnormal conditions on operating systems, subsystems, and supporting infrastructure and assets

    Maintain process safety awareness across all systems

    Interpret SCADA, HMI, and/or other visualizations to make informed operational decisions and/or actions

    Respond to alarms and dispatch operators by priority in a timely manner and follow the company’s alarm management response guidelines

    Monitor and respond to emergency and non-emergency phone calls and initiates action or emergency response, as appropriate

    Conduct a complete and thorough verbal and written shift handover of operational conditions to the oncoming shift

    Track, record, and order facility chemical and oxygen based on predictions

    Interpret facility data, and create reports as requested

    Take action to ensure facility abnormalities are reported, and addressed by the responsible party

    Ensure proper function and operate drum filters, biofilters, heat exchangers, ozone/skimmer systems, NaOH systems, and chillers.

    Troubleshoot, repair, or replace mechanical equipment (pumps, pipe flanges, etc.).

    Monitor and confirm quality assurance water quality sensors and their readings (oxygen, pH, etc.).

    Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and Company HSE Standards, along with site security program

    Support Farm Operations team as needed

    Skills, competences, and knowledge to perform the work

    Strong knowledge and ability to independently make sound decision based on biological data

    Background in aquaculture, recirculating aquaculture systems (some basic levels of Drum filters, Biofilters, Hydro Dynamics etc), fisheries, or fish handling preferred.

    3+ years fish farming/RAS experience or proven ability of comparable expertise

    Knowledge and use of hand tools, power tools, and related safety considerations preferred.

    Ability to keep calm in stressful situations

    Understanding of facility systems, operations, automation, and subsystems.

    Able to process a lot of information at once

    Knowledge of the SCADA systems

    Ability to remain focused in a control room environment

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Strong ability to interact with all levels of management and non-management.

    Fluent with Microsoft Office applications and knowledgeable in CMMS and/or ERP systems

    Willingness to support Farm Operations as needed.

    Work Environment This job operates in a combined office and production environment.

    Schedule

    This job is salary and will consist of a rotating multi-shift schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage. Lunch break is 1 hour and is coordinated daily with your manager. The facility is 24/hr and may require fast response all hands-on deck calls should there be issues with the farm.
