Job Overview
The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and financial accuracy. The Controller will lead the accounting team, manage financial operations, and support strategic decision-making to enhance organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze variances and provide insights to management.
- Collaborate with department heads to prepare departmental budgets.
Accounting Operations:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee tax compliance and prepare tax returns.
Internal Controls:
- Design and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare reports for senior management and the board of directors.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration within the finance department.
Strategic Support:
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop financial strategies aligned with business goals.
- Assist in evaluating investment opportunities and financial risks.
- Support mergers and acquisitions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- CPA certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least [X] years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.

Compensation:
$100,000 - $130,000 depending on experience
