  • Responsibilities

    The Controller will oversee the company’s financial operations while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. You will manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, and revenue recognition. You will be a crucial part of the company and will foster trust across the organization. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Manage the daily activities for accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, and become the owner of the general ledger.
    • Preparation of month-end and quarter-end financial reporting for the division as well as to the parent company, including the consolidation of all subsidiaries.
    • Work to increase accuracy and timeliness in reporting as the Company grows and scales rapidly, including the enhancement of existing software or identifying new software.
    • Oversee purchasing function and maintain relationships with key external vendors and partners.
    • Support key operational and compliance processes and programs.
    • Support year-end audits and tax filings prepared by third party auditors or consultants.
    • Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances.
    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies as the company scales commercially.
    • Assist with the implementation of a new ERP system.
    • Assist with the evaluation of new technical accounting standards that apply to the business including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and R&D expense tracking.
    • Lead and inspire a team to achieve high performance and meet departmental objectives.
    • Set clear goals and expectations for team members and provide regular feedback.
    • Adapt and respond to changing needs of the department as it scales.
    • Onboard and mentor new team members as the department expands.

    WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

    • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting
    • 5+ years of progressive accounting management experience
    • Experience in budgeting, planning, financial and operational reporting
    • High level of ability with spreadsheets and other analytical tools
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Ability to create and maintain cooperative, team building relationships
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
    • Experience supporting HR functions

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance
