  • Responsibilities

    The Position

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate the closing of the monthly financial accounting and year-end cycles to ensure that Corporate guidelines are met for deadlines, as well as for financial accounting policies and procedures.
    • Prepare Cash Flow with supporting Income Statement and Balance Sheet information. Compare performance and interpret results against operating plans.
    • Manage the Credit, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cost Functions
    • Achieve earnings by coordination of the annual and long-range plan for the control of operations. Prepare financials for annual business plan, profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, cost standards, savings opportunities, capital investing, together with goals and objectives to effectuate the plans.
    • Maintain cycle counting processes and conduct the Annual Physical Inventory.
    • Coordinate audits from the Internal Audit Department, Outside Auditors, and State and Local Audits.
    • Ensure company operates within FAPP and other financial policies
    • Identify opportunities to improve the business through process changes, technology advancements and data analysis.
    • Automate business processes to increase both front/back office and plant efficiencies.
    • Develop and monitor key metrics.
    • Continually review plant and operations costs to justify capital equipment upgrades.
    • Develop and present strategic improvements to the President for approval.
    • Maintain Disaster Recovery Plan
    • Continue exploring new technologies for advancement of company.
    • Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance and operations teams.
    • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
    • Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
    • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals.
    • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: provide guidance and advice; monitor and evaluate results.
    • Assist Senior Management with duties as assigned.
    • Handle Corporate reporting requests as needed.

     

    Education:

    • An undergraduate degree in business, finance/accounting or a relevant curriculum is required and an MBA or CPA is preferred
    • 7-10 years of progressive management experience, preferably in manufacturing, production or in an operating business unit role.
    • Proven experience in strategic planning and demonstrating success in managing complexity from a product and market perspective.

     

    Skills & Relevant Work Experience:

    • Strong analytical and reasoning skills. Extensive managerial and accounting experience.
    • Participative management style - advocates team concepts and efforts. Sound administrative and management skills.
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software
    • Working knowledge of Manufacturing systems, well-developed financial analysis capabilities, and demonstrated ability to manage personnel.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
    • Results and profit oriented with the ability to balance business considerations. Capable of establishing credibility and being decisive, while able to recognize and support the company’s preferences and priorities.
