    Controller - Construction - Base Salary to 150k/year - Timonium, MD

    • Our client, a well-established specialty construction products company, is currently seeking a Controller for their location in Timonium, MD. This role supports the CFO and focuses on general ledger prep, financial reporting, job costing, year-end audit prep, budget/ forecast, and managing the accounting team of 6.
    • Our client is seeking a Controller with related experience in Construction, Real Estate Development, or Property Management; and CPA is preferred

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain financial reporting and general ledger structure; improving as needed
    • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes and accurate reporting of all monthly financial information
    • Ensure balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled
    • Oversee Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Staff assisting with their goals and professional development
    • Improve efficiency of procedures & use of resources while maintaining accuracy
    • Assist the CFO in updating accounting policy SOP’s & special projects
    • Manage and Maintain Cash Flow Projection, Bank Reconciliations, Payroll Journal Entries, Process and Pay Operating Expenses
    • Back-up to CFO for Payroll Processing
    • Prepare Standard Journal Entries (Prepaid, Accrued Expense, Depreciation)
    • Maintain & Reconcile Fixed Asset and Intangible Schedules, Prepaid & Accrued Expense Schedules
    • Reconcile Credit Card Accounts, Prepaid Inventory & Customer Deposit Account, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Retainage
    • Close Job Inventory & Job Work Orders
    • Financial Analysis and Reporting on Job Profitability
    • Attend Bi-Weekly AR Meetings & Material Meetings for Prepaid Inventory
    • Complete and submit Vendor Credit Applications & New Vendor Set-up

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting; CPA preferred
    • 3+ Years progressively responsible financial leadership roles preferably in the construction, real estate development, or property management industry
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook) as well as some type of construction accounting software (“Structure” or other)

    • Base salary in the 125k – 150k/year range
