    Controller - Construction Company - Base Salary to 120k/year - Philadelphia, PA

    • Our client is full service demolition and remediation construction company in the Philadelphia area, looking to bring on a Controller for their firm. The Controller will be part of the senior staff and heavily involved on the financial side of the business. The ideal candidate will possess a construction accounting background with an understanding of SAGE or other construction accounting software.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the accounting operations of the company.
    • Provide financial reporting and analysis as required by the President and/or Operations.
    • Assist in the development of project budgets.
    • Ensure accurate, systematic, and timely recording of all transactions.
    • Supervise accounting staff, tax managers, and other related positions.
    • Oversee employee training programs, identify developmental needs within the accounting team, and ensure cross-training for critical capabilities.
    • Participate in developing and implementing job cost data gathering procedures from field operations.
    • Collaborate with project management staff to ensure compliance with accounting procedures, including periodic review and analysis of job cost estimates.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
    • Assist with the development of the company’s annual budget and financial planning, reporting significant budget variances to management.
    • Work with external accounting and financial firms.
    • Provide occasional assistance with the weekly payroll process.
    • Manage the Work in Progress (WIP) schedule.
    • Oversee general conditions and indirect cost management.
    • Ensure tax compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and manage tax planning strategies.
    • Monitor cash flow, maintain banking relationships, and manage cash forecasting to ensure adequate liquidity.
    • Oversee and ensure timely preparation of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
    • Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Management

    Qualifications:

    • 5+years of experience in construction accounting.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • Skilled in decision-making and multi-tasking.
    • Experience working with banks and other financial institutions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with strong expertise in Excel.

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 90k - 120k/year range
