    About Us

    Clearwater Shower Bath is a growing home remodeling company specializing in custom bathroom renovations throughout Florida. With an expanding service territory covering much of the state, we're seeking an experienced Controller to join our leadership team during an exciting growth phase, reporting directly to the CEO as our top financial professional.

    Role Overview

    This position combines hands-on accounting management with strategic financial leadership. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable processing payroll and advising on business growth strategies. You'll oversee all accounting operations while providing financial insights that drive company success.

    Core Responsibilities

    Financial Management

    • Manage full-cycle accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and cash management
    • Prepare monthly financial statements and lead month/year-end close processes
    • Implement and maintain effective job costing systems for project-based accounting
    • Maintain WIP schedules and ensure proper revenue/cost recognition
    • Process semi-monthly payroll via Gusto platform
    • Coordinate with external CPA firm for tax preparation and compliance

    Strategic Leadership

    • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the CEO
    • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes
    • Develop cash flow projections to support business planning
    • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
    • Evaluate and enhance financial processes and internal controls

    Team Development

    • Supervise Accounting Clerk (AR/AP)
    • Build the accounting department as the company grows
    • Collaborate across departments to provide financial support and insights

    Requirements

    Must-Have Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
    • 3+ years in a senior accounting role (Controller, Accounting Manager, etc.)
    • Demonstrated experience with job costing and project accounting
    • Proficiency with accounting software and Excel/Google Sheets
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff
    • Strong attention to detail with high standards for accuracy

    Preferred Qualifications

    • CPA or CMA certification
    • Construction/remodeling industry experience
    • Experience with QuickBooks and Gusto (or similar platforms)
    • Knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting and WIP reporting
    • Experience building financial processes in growing companies
    • Strategic mindset with potential to grow into future CFO role
