  • Responsibilities

    A privately held manufacturer seeks a Controller to join their dynamic team. The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, reporting, compliance and human resources. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and providing strategic insights to support the company’s financial health and growth.

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitor accounting and internal control policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of the financial transactions and records
    • Ensure accounting staff completes routine work and special assignments with accuracy to meet departmental and company objectives.
    • Manage the daily cash, check, wire and ACH collection and reconciliation process
    • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Prepare quarterly budget vs actual analysis for the various departments.
    • Review and approve accounts payable to verify proper coding and compliance with company policy.
    • Review payroll and reconcile payroll deductions.
    • Record and review necessary journal entries on a monthly basis.
    • Communicate with the company’s bank representatives regarding wires, ACH’s and line of credit activity and all matters of treasury management, including loan compliance.
    • Assist in preparing annual budgets.
    • Work directly with outside accountants and prepare documentation for the annual financial review.
    • Prepare documents for annual tax returns.
    • Identify areas of opportunity in the department and implement required changes to improve efficiency of reporting, operational procedures and processes, or improved analysis of data.
    • Communicate financial information and insights to senior management. Prepare presentations and reports as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of [5-7] years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least [2-4] years in a managerial role.
    • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, NAV).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
