Compensation: $222,000 - $252,000 Annual Salary

About the Role:
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining robust internal controls. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this role is essential for supporting the company’s rapid unit growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting in the restaurant industry or multi-unit retail environments, may have experience in food manufacturing, and have managed a multi-entity structure.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of periodic, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management and ownershipCost Accounting: Develop and implement cost accounting practices specific to food manufacturing and multi-unit operations, including analysis of production costs, inventory management, and margin optimization.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow to maintain adequate liquidity and optimize working capital, with a focus on inventory and supply chain efficiency.
Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure accurate financial reporting
Accounting Operations: Oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and tax compliance. Ensure efficient and effective accounting operations across multiple locations.
Tax: Coordinate and manage tax filings with external Tax firm
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals to achieve department and company objectives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Systems & Processes: Evaluate, recommend, and implement financial systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities. Drive automation and process improvements. Simplify current structure and processes.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. Experience in the restaurant, multi-unit retail, or food manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Experience in managing a multi-entity structure is preferred.
Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems; strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing Accounting team.
High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
