The candidate will be a member of the management team and provide leadership and coordination in the administration, financial reporting, accounting and budgeting. They will be responsible for the daily operations of the accounting department including the production of monthly and year-end financial reports (in conjunction of our CPA), budgeting, payroll and maintenance of accounting records.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manages the day-to-day operation of the Accounting Department including Billing, A/R, A/P, General Ledger Maintenance, and Cost Accounting.
• Performs all activities necessary to assist with issuing timely and accurate financial statements.
• Help manage, and personally assist in payroll processing. As well as certified payroll and union dues.
• Maintains controls over all postings and transactions in the general ledger including journal entries, correcting transactions, preparing and reconciling the final monthly job cost and WIP.
• Oversee bank reconciliations
and deposits (with assistance from team member if needed)
• Develop, monitor, and regularly evaluate company wide, project specific, and department specific budgets and report on performance against budgets.
• Coordinates the record keeping of all job costs (with assistance from A/P team member), transactions, and accruals including general and administrative expenses.
• Coordinate with external accounting firm for review of financial statements and annual audit.
• Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the Company’s value.
• Motivate and mentor the accounting staff, providing them with leadership, direction and coaching to achieve work and individual career objectives.
• Assist Amy with establishing more efficient and robust WIP reporting and collections process.
Salary $150k maybe more for the right person plus medical/dental/life insurance package
