Global consumer products company is looking for a sharp Financial Controller at their corporate office in Los Angeles. The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring financial stability, and supporting the strategic growth of the company. This role involves managing the accounting team, maintaining financial controls, and providing accurate financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory accounting, understanding of NetSuite and a proven ability to build and grow teams.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Oversee the financial closing processes and ensure accuracy in all financial documents.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management. Promote professional development and build a collaborative work environment.
• Oversee the accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Manage inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and cost analysis.
• Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial data. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Review, evaluate, and implement accounting systems, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure accurate reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for annual audits and manage tax filings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Optimize financial processes and systems, leveraging NetSuite for efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support business growth. Participate in strategic planning initiatives, mergers, and acquisitions.
Qualifications
• CPA required
• 12+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience with inventory accounting required, experience in the beauty or skincare industry is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of NetSuite and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven track record of managing financial operations, audits, and regulatory compliance.
