The Hilton Cavasson located in beautiful Scottsdale is currently seeking a Controller for their property. The Controller is responsible for coordinating financial and accounting practices, procedures, and policies. Participates in Organizational Development Group (Executive Committee) and provides accurate and timely reports reflecting the financial condition of the Resort. Hires, trains, and supervises the accounting team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervises the accounting team. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the staff.
- Establishes or recommends to management major economic objectives and policies for the property.
- Plans and implements procedures and systems.
- Prepares reports which summarize and forecast Hotel business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- Directs preparation of budgets.
- Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
- Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
- Arranges for audits of property accounts.
- Prepares reports for regulatory agencies.
- Prepares and negotiates different contracts.
- Maintains files for all contracts, and insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
- Maintains good relations with ownership, and outside organizations such as banks, auditors, etc.
- Provide continuous direction to and education of the operation team in all areas related to finance, financial reports, internal controls, labor management, payroll, month-end reconciliation, P&L performance, etc.
- Have complete knowledge of all policies, standards, and procedures of the department.
- Participate in the properties Executive Committee which is responsible for planning and leading the Hotel and Outlets.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- College degree in Accounting / Business and a minimum of 5 years of management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Hilton experience preferred
- Proficiency in finance-related computer programs, including Excel, Word, and QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of city, county, state, and Federal regulations related to maintaining and reporting financial data.
- Ability to effectively interact in a professional manner with the management team, guests, and ownership.
- Excellent organizational, time management, computer skills and strong analytical skills.
