About the Company:
Our client, a dynamic manufacturing company based in North Kansas City, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join their team. This company is committed to innovation, quality, and operational excellence, and they are looking for a finance professional to help drive their continued success.

Position Summary:
The Controller will oversee the company’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and proficiency with NetSuite. This role requires a strong leader who can collaborate across departments to optimize financial processes and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Lead efforts to optimize financial systems and processes, with a strong preference for NetSuite ERP experience.
• Support cost accounting and inventory management processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic planning.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and filings.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial partners.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
