    Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a growing manufacturing company to recruit a Controller in Rochester, NY.

    JOB SUMMARY

    This position will be responsible for the oversight of general and cost accounting, financial closing and reporting, fixed assets, journal entries, and daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting. The position will work with the organization at all levels to evaluate information, oversee the generation of financial reporting and implement accounting internal controls that achieve financial statements in line with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (US GAAP). This position is targeted for development within the organization and the ideal candidate will keep learning and growing within our company.

     

    JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee period-end financial close process including journal entries and account reconciliations for various accounts.
    • Manage all subledger activity including (but not limited to) fixed assets, intangibles, A/R, A/P, Unvouched Payables, etc.
    • Oversee general accounting staff in ensuring that day to day accounting processes are performed timely
    • Develops, implements and tests internal control processes; develops and monitors intercompany reporting and reconciliation processes.
    • Conducts US GAAP research and analyzes impact of technical accounting matters, completes work in a timely manner and in compliance with corporate policies and external requirements.
    • Act as finance liaison to other functional areas including Invoicing team, Project Management & Sales organizations to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
    • Assist the Director of Finance & CFO with preparation of financial reporting package for Executive team as well as ad-hoc requests, as needed.
    • Act is primary liaison for external audits including Financial, bank, State Insurance Funds audit.

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, required
    • Five to seven years of experience in an accounting/finance role or public accounting, required.
    • Experience managing an accounting organization.
    • Understanding of “percentage of completion” revenue recognition methodology, preferred.
    • Intermediate proficiency in Power Point and Word, strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups

    MEASUREMENTS OF SUCCESS:

    • Timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks as assigned (for example, month end schedule, dissemination of daily reports)
    • Continuous improvement in quality, accuracy and efficiency of reporting and support
  • Compensation
    $120,000-$140,000 per year
